Exfoliation is the process of clearing away surface debris from your skin, like dead skin cells, or other impurities to reveal smoother and brighter skin beneath.

There are two types of exfoliants -

- Physical exfoliants (also known as gommage) contain ingredients that buff or peel away dead skin, like sugar, or other organic materials that literally polish and peel off debris.

- Chemical exfoliants acids like alpha/beta/poly hydroxy acids, found in organic sources like fruits, herbs or even fermented ingredients like wine. 

Exfoliating regularly makes a huge difference in how your skin looks and feels - it will be brighter, softer and smoother, and healthier. 

But in your quest for smoother skin, don’t overdo it - the key is to use gentle products so you can remove impurities without damaging your skin barrier.
