We have all heard the term anti-aging - as if we can win a war against the inevitable. Looking younger is a universal desire and beauty culture does everything it can to sell the concept of eternal youth. Don't fall for it!

At SLB we prefer to think of using skincare to age well — to help us embrace how we look no matter what age we are. 

This means taking care of our skin with products that don’t include harmful additives/chemicals and focusing as much as possible on natural ingredients. Korean skincare in a nutshell.

A consistent routine is also key - focusing on layering products, hydration, regular exfoliation and protection. It is also helpful to use active ingredients, as they affect skin at the cellular level. Actives like Vitamin C, retinol (Vitamin A) and retinol alternatives like bakuchiol are great for reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles and age spots.

Gentle use of acids for hydration, like hyaluronic acid and alpha/beta/poly hydroxy acids for exfoliation is also important. Ingredients like collagen, peptides and ceramides help skin look firmer. And look for probiotic and fermented ingredients that keep the skin barrier healthy, which becomes more important as we age.
